SchoolTube got the chance to talk to Sarah McBride, a video production student from Burleson High School in Burleson, TX. Here is a small excerpt of our conversation:
SchoolTube: The number of students and teachers on the project?
Sarah McBride: Two, Me (Sarah McBride) and my partner Jennifer Rutledge.
ST: What was the reason for the video?
SM: Texting has become a major problem at our school and we wanted to see how large the problem has grown from the past 10 years.
ST: Did you have to use any special techniques for shooting or editing the video?
SM: Instead of having our "actors" come in to do the voice-over, we just had them speak into the shotgun mike and put a video over their voices in final cut.
ST: Do recall any humorous stories during filming?
SM: Secretly filming some of our interviewees while they were chatting about their texting addiction, and watching them turn red when they realized we had been filming. Fighting about who's turn it was to hold the camera while transitioning to different locations around the school.
