Global Issues
What is Think Globally, Act Locally?
Students choose one of the issues listed above, find a local angle to the story, and create a 1-2 minute broadcast news story.
Like any good story, the first step is to explain the global issue and then put it into a context a viewer can relate to and understand. And like any good story, it should be visually interesting. To help you get that new media polish, we’ll provide b-roll related to each of the contest issues.
Three winners will receive an all expenses paid trip to attend the United Nations Foundation Youth Leadership Summit held July 16-19 at the United Nations headquarters in New York.
